The OpenSource Quadcopter is my first quadcoper frame design. This is based on a ‘H’ shape frame so that there is plenty of room for the electronics and equipment to be carried. It has been designed with FPV in mind and has mounting areas for a GoPro, as well as space for autopilots (the APM2.6 for example). To make it easier to store and transport the arms are designed to fold back without the need for tools.
In order for the OSQ450 to be as accessible for home Makers to build it has been designed to use small 3D printed parts and be cut on a standard Shapeoko milling machine. Fixings are all the same size (M3 bolts although varying lengths).
As its name implies, this is an OpenSource project. All the files are held on GitHub.
I am currently waiting for my Shapeoko to arrive so no parts have been built. Here are a few images of the current design.
